Melling Performance/Elite Performance Pro Stock driver Erica Enders-Stevens is the provisional No. 1 qualifier on Friday at the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com. Enders-Stevens received the top spot on her first qualifying pass of the day at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, California.
The New Orleans, Louisiana native went 6.528 at 212.09 mph to get the provisional No. 1 spot.
“It’s huge to go No. 1 on day one at Pomona,” Enders stated. “We didn’t have many No. 1 qualifiers over the last couple of years, so we built a new race car this year. To come out here and just go low like that was pretty awesome.”
Jim Butner Auto Group’s Bo Butner — who considered retirement after the season before electing to come back after the NHRA changed Pro Stock to an 18-race schedule and a talk with his grandmother — is the provisional No. 2 qualifier. The Floyds Knobs, Indiana native went 6.530 at 213.10 mph.
Erica’s Elite Performance teammate Rodger Brogdon is the provisional No. 3 qualifier. The Houston, Texas native went 6.543 at 212.06 mph.
The American Ethanol driver Deric Kramer was the highest qualified Team Summit car. The Sterling, Colorado native went 6.546 at 210.57 mph.
Summit Racing Equipment driver Jason Line is the provisional No. 5 qualifier. The Mooresville, North Carolina native went 6.549 at 211.53 mph.
