Rodger Brogdon announced in the off-season that he was going to race a full-season with Elite Performance. Brogdon last competed full-time in 2014.
Brogdon picked up his first No. 1 qualifier of the 2019 season on Saturday. This was the Houston, Texas native’s first No. 1 qualifier since Gainesville in 2011.
He went 6.522 at 212.03 mph on Saturday during his first qualifying pass at the 59th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona, California. This is his second career No. 1 qualifier in the class.
“I feel good and I’ve got a great team,” Brogdon stated. “We tested last week, and everything went really well. The Elite (Motorsports) bunch is incredible. I never really thought I could be No. 1, maybe top three with a good run, but I feel really good about this.”
Brogdon will face Val Smeland in the first-round of eliminations. Smeland went 6.669 at 209.39 mph.
Fellow Elite Performance Pro Stock driver Erica Enders-Stevens is the No. 2 qualifier. The New Orleans, Louisiana native went 6.528 at 212.09 mph.
She will face Jeff Isbell in the first-round of eliminations. The West Valley City, Utah native went 6.664 at 208.33 mph.
Jim Butner Auto Group’s Bo Butner is the No. 3 qualifier. The Floyds Knobs, Indiana native went 6.530 at 213.10 mph.
Butner will face Rockaway, New Jersey native Alan Prusiensky in the first-round of eliminations. Prusiensky went 6.648 at 208.46 mph.
Team Summit’s American Ethanol driver Deric Kramer is the No. 4 qualifier. The Sterling, Colorado native went 6.546 at 210.57 mph.
Kramer will face Steve Graham in the first-round of eliminations. The South San Francisco, California native went 6.623 at 210.14 mph.
Summit Racing Equipment Pro Stock driver Jason Line is the No. 5 qualifier. The Mooresville, North Carolina native went 6.547 at 212.33 mph.
Line will face his Team Summit teammate Fernando Cuadra in the first-round of eliminations. The México native went 6.592 at 211.36 mph.
