Brown has wanted out for some time now. However, the Steelers have refused to allow his agent to speak with teams about a trade.

Yet, the team has admitted it might be best to move on from Brown despite the crippling cap hit the team would have to deal with by making the move. Brown has been wanting out since the end of the season.

He reportedly got into it at practice with Ben Roethlisberger during the final week of the season. He then missed several practices and meetings, before the season-finale.

Brown was at the game against the Cincinnati Bengals, before leaving at halftime.

On Jan. 1, he first made it clear he would like to move on.

The 30-year-old Miami, Florida native made 15 starts this season. He had 104 receptions for 1,297 yards and 15 touchdowns. The 15 touchdowns were a career-high; surpassing his previous record of 13 touchdowns in 2014.

He has had six straight seasons, where he had more than 1,000 receiving yards. He has seven 1,000-plus receiving yardage seasons in his career.

In his final game of the season, he had his best game in a 31-28 loss to the New Orleans Saints, he had 14 receptions for 185 yards and two touchdowns.
