Felder wins first bout since father’s death

Paul Felder defeated James Vick in the co-main event on UFC on ESPN 1 at Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona. Felder won the fight by a unanimous decision. 

The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native improved to 16-4 in his MMA career. “The Irish Dragon” picked top his fifth decision win. Ten of his wins have come via knockout with one submission win. 

Felder said this is the first win since losing his father in 2018.

This was Felder’s first win since Dec. 2, 2017 when he defeated Charles Oliveira by TKO (Elbows) in the second round. In his lone 2018 fight, he was defeated by Mike Perry via a split decision at UFC 226 on July 7th, 2018. 

Felder picked up his first unanimous decision win at UFC Fight Night 88 over Joshua Burkman on May 29th, 2016.

“The Texecutioner” fell to 13-3 in his MMA career. This is the first time he lost a decision bout in his career. 

The Mineral Wells, Texas native has lost back-to-back fights. He also lost to Justin Gaethje at UFC Fight Night 135 by KO (Punches) in the first-round. 

His other loss is to Beneil Dariush by KO (Punches) at UFC 199 in the first-round on June 4, 2016. In between the loss to Dariush and Gaethje, he had a four-fight win streak.
