2019 Express vs. Apollos Week 3 preview

The Memphis Express face the Orlando Apollos on Saturday night. This will be the Apollos second home game in three contests at Spectrum Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

The game will kick off at 8 pm EST on the NFL Network. This will be the lone nationally televised game on Saturday, as the 3 pm EST game will be broadcasted on B/R Live, which is a subscription-based service. 

The Express have an 0-2 record. They were defeated 20-18 by the Arizona Hotshots last weekend.

In Week 1, the Birmingham Iron shutout the Express 26-0. 

The Apollos bring a 2-0 record into this game. Orlando is coming off of a 37-29 win over the San Antonio Commanders in Week 2. 

They also won 40-6 over the Atlanta Legends in Week 1. 

The Apollos are tied with the Iron, who also have two wins atop the Eastern Conference. The Express are tied with the Atlanta Legends with an 0-2 mark. 

Apollos quarterback Garrett Gilbert has gone 34 of 53 for 620 yards. He also has four touchdowns. 

Gilbert is the lone quarterback, who has thrown for more than 600 yards in the first two games of the season. San Antonio Commanders quarterback Logan Woodside is second with 478 yards. 

D’Ernest Johnson is ninth in the league in rushing, as he had 13 carries for 92 yards. 

Charles Johnson leads the league with 11 receptions for 252 yards and a touchdown. He leads the nearest competitor by 82 yards, which is Hotshots receiver Rashad Ross, who has 170 yards. 

Express quarterback Christian Hackenberg is seventh in the league in passing. He has gone 24 of 48 for 189 yards with an interception.

Zac Stacy is tied for the league-lead with 159 yards through the first two weeks of the season. Stacy was the first running back ever in AAF history to have 100 rushing yards in a game. 

Reece Horn is tenth in the league in receiving with seven receptions for 84 yards.
