Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver Brad Keselowski will miss Saturday’s practice in the No. 2 Autotrader Ford Mustang. There will be only one practice session at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
He will be replaced by Austin Cindric, as Keselowski battles flu-like symptoms. Cindric will help the team, along with crew chief Paul Wolfe, to prepare for Sunday’s 500-mile event.
Cindric will also be competing in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event. Keselowski is expected to still start on Sunday.
Keselowski qualified 19th for the race on Sunday. He went 30.998 at 178.850 mph.
He will be one of nine Ford’s in the Top 20. The first three qualifiers are Ford’s, as Aric Almirola will lead the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 on Sunday.
Almirola went 30.550 at 181.473 to become the pole sitter for the race.
The Rochester Hills, Michigan native finished 12th in the Daytona 500 on Feb. 17 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Keselowski — who started 35th — received 32 points, as he moved up 23 spots in the race.
