“It’s just a blessing to be out here,” B. Torrence stated. “I’m trying not to choke up. The car ran great and they all worked so hard to keep a good car under me. Even Steve’s (Torrence) team came over to help them out and it was just outstanding.”

The older Torrence won his first career race at the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Speedway in Brainerd, Minnesota on August 19th, 2018. He defeated Antron Brown in the final round.

This was the first-time this pairing faced each other in eliminations.

Pritchett was the leader off of the tree, as she had an 0.071 reaction time to Torrence’s 0.073. Then went up in smoke a short time later. Her day was over immediately after that.

Torrence also hazed his tires; however, he was able to pedal it and was able to recover to get the win.

With the win, Torrence is the points leader through the second race of the season.
