The Indianapolis Colts will have the most cap space of any team at the moment with $102.8 million to spend in the open market. They are definitely going to be a factor with all that money.

One free agent target the team may target is former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell. He did not play a single snap during the 2018 season after holding out.

He refused to sign another franchise tag. Near the deadline, there was some hope that he would sign his franchise tag, but elected to continue to sit out.

Bell will be the top free agent running back on the market.

Despite having success from Marlon Mack last season, the Colts could potentially add Bell at a long-term deal. If Bell does sign with Indianapolis as a free agent, Mack could be used as a backup, or even moved in a trade by GM Chris Ballard.

Instead of being paid like a running back, Bell and his representatives want to be paid like one of the top players in the league, regardless of the position.

The 27-year-old Bell played five seasons for the Steelers, the last in 2017. He had a career-best 321 carries for 1,291 yards and nine touchdowns. The 1,291 yards were the most since his 1,361 yardage season in 2014.

Bell also had 85 receptions for 655 yards and two touchdowns.

In his career, Reynoldsburg, Ohio native has had 1,229 carries for 5,336 yards and 35 touchdowns in 62 starts. He also has 312 receptions for 2,660 yards and an additional seven touchdowns.

The 22-year-old Sarasota, Florida native Mack appeared in 12 games with 10 starts. He had 195 carries for 908 yards and nine touchdowns. He also had 17 receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown.
