Cowboys’ Irving suspended indefinitely

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Dallas Cowboys defensive end David Irving has been suspended indefinitely by the NFL. He violated the Policy and Program for Substance Abuse. 

He is the second Cowboys player suspended indefinitely this week. Randy Gregory was suspended indefinitely on Tuesday by the NFL.

This is Irving’s third suspension in his four-year career.

The 25-year-old San Diego, California native has spent the last four seasons with the team. Irving played in just two games during the season. 

He had four tackles, including two tackles for a loss, and two quarterback hits. He also had a sack. 

In his four-year career with the Cowboys, Irving has appeared in 37 games with 10 starts. He had 56 tackles, including 17 tackles for a loss and 30 quarterback hits. 

He also had 12.5 sacks with five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and 12 pass deflections.
