According to Yahoo! Sports’ Chris Haynes, the Los Angeles Lakers have placed star LeBron James on a minutes restriction. Haynes said the Lakers and James’s representatives agreed this is the best interest of the team.
It is near impossible that the Lakers will make the playoffs. Haynes said that James will play in 28-32 minutes per game.

The 34-year-old Akron, Ohio native — who signed a three-year deal with the Lakers in the off-season — has made 47 starts for the team this season. He is averaging 27.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, 8.0 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game.
Last season was the first-time that James played all 82 games in a season. The fewest amount of regular season games he has played in was 62 during the 2011-12 season with the Miami Heat.
In five games this month, James has scored more than 30 points three times. His best game this month came against the New Orleans Pelicans when he had 33 points on Feb. 27.
In his last game — as he surpassed Michael Jordan for fourth all-time on the scoring list — he had 31 points against the Denver Nuggets.
His best game of the season came against one of his former teams. He had a season-best 51 points against the Heat on Nov. 18.
James only had three games that he scored 40 or more points. Besides the 51-point performance, he had 44 points on Nov. 14 against the Portland Trail Blazers.
He also had 42 poiints against the San Antonio Spurs on Dec. 7.
