The Miami Dolphins have released wide receiver Danny Amendola. The Dolphins were expected to make this move for quite some time before it became official on Friday.
Amendola spent one season with the Dolphins. He signed a two-year, $12 million deal with the franchise on March 16th, 2018.
He made 15 starts with the Dolphins this past season. He had 59 receptions for 575 yards and one touchdown.
He also had one carry for -2 yards.
Amendola could land back with the New England Patriots. It’s not guaranteed, but the Patriots could land him.
Besides the Dolphins and the Patriots, he also began his career with the St. Louis Rams, where he played the first four years of his career.
He spent five years of his career with the Patriots. And players, who leave on good terms, have been given an opportunity to come back.
As a Patriots player, he made 69 appearances, including 29 starts. He has 485 receptions for 4,684 yards and 20 touchdowns.
He last started a game for the Patriots in 2017. He also had two of his 20 touchdowns that season.
