Sébastien Bourdais will attempt to become the first-driver to win the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg three times. Presently, he is one of four drivers to win this event twice.
The race will start at 1:30 pm EST on Sunday, March 10th. The race will be on NBC Sports. There will be a pre-show beginning at 12:30 pm.
Bourdais has won the last two events in the Streets of St. Petersburg in St. Petersburg, Florida. In 2015 and 2016, Juan Pablo Montoya won the event twice.
Will Power also won the event in 2010 and 2014. Hélio Castroneves won the event in 2006 and 2007.
Bourdais won the 2018 season-opener driving the SealMaster car for Dale Coyne with Vasser-Sullivan. He led 30 of the 110 laps.
In 2017, Bourdais dominated the event. He led 69 of the 110 laps driving the Sonny BBQ sponsored car for Dale Coyne.
Bourdais has six career wins in 115 IndyCar wins. Both times when he won the season-opener, it was the only time he won during the respective season.
Besides St. Petersburg, Bourdais also won twice at Belle Isle and one each in Toronto and Milwaukee.
Several drivers, including Power, Scott Dixon, and Alexander Rossi, won three races each during the 2018 season.
