Raiders have proposed deal to send Osemele to the Jets

The Oakland Raiders are going to be very busy this off-season. This is the first off-season with head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock.

The Raiders have a prospered deal in place to acquire Antonio Brown in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers. When the deal becomes official on Wednesday, it will cost them a third-round draft pick and a fifth-round draft pick.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Josina Anderson, the Raiders will trade guard Kelechi Osemele to the New York Jets. It is not clear at this time what the Raiders are receiving in return.

The 29-year-old Houston, Texas native returns to the East Coast with this move. He began his career with the Baltimore Ravens before signing with the Raiders.

He spent the last three seasons with the Raiders.

Osemele has two-years left on his five-year, $58.5 million deal he signed before the 2016 season. The Jets will be responsible for $20 million over those two years.

He will make $9.7 million during the 2019 season. Osemele will also make $11.2 million during the 2020 season.

Osemele was slated to start at left guard, according to depth chart. Now an other offensive lineman will have to take that responsibility.
