Landon Collins intends to sign with Washington

Free agent safety Landon Collins intends to sign with the Washington Redskins. He remains in the NFC East with this move.

The Giants refused to franchise tag Collins and instead allowed him to walk. He is receiving a six-year, $84-million deal with the Redskins.

The 25-year-old New Orleans, Louisiana native was a second-round draft pick by the Giants in the 2015 NFL Draft. He spent the last four years with the team.

This past season, he appeared in 12 games with 12 starts. He had 96 tackles, including five tackles for a loss, and two quarterback hits.

He also had one forced fumble and four pass deflections.

In his career, he has made 59 starts with the Giants. He had 428 tackles, including 22 tackles for a loss, and 10 quarterback hits.

He had 4.0 sacks, eight interceptions, including one interception for a touchdown; three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and 32 pass deflections.
