This is the 50th anniversary of the historic Gatornationals. Besides having racing on the track, the NHRA will have “Unfinished Business” with eight legends.

Those legends will grudge race each other during the “Unfinished Business” segments.

There are 16 Funny Cars on the property. Outside of the regulars, Jonnie Lindberg will return to action.

Head Racing missed the first two races of the season.

Besides Lindberg returning, Terry Haddock, Dave Richards, and John Smith will also be competing.

Since the last race in Phoenix, Dunn Racing Funny Car pilot Jim Campbell was stabbed at The Cliffs in Huntington Beach, California on Feb. 25. He helped stopped the alleged suspect 25-year-old Lamont Waters.

He has been arrested for attempted murder and other charges.

“All good brother, thanks for checking,” Campbell texted to The Capital Sports Report recently.

Living legend John Force has the most Funny Car wins at this facility. He has eight wins at Gainesville Raceway.

Force has won in 2017, 2001, 1999, 1996, 1995, 1994, 1993, 1992.

Ron Capps is the last Funny Car pilot to win this event in back-to-back years. He win it in 2006 and 2007.
