Krawiec goes for four straight Gatornationals wins

Eddie Krawiec will go for four straight wins at the Gainesville Raceway. If he wins his fourth straight, it’ll mean he won the historic 50th anniversary Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida.
One year ago, Krawiec defeated his teammate Andrew Hines in the final round. The New Jersey native, before relocating to Indianapolis, Indiana, went 6.824 at 198.44 mph for the win.
Hines went 6.853 at 197.19 mph in the losing effort.
This will be the historic 50th anniversary of the Gatornationals. This is the second most-important event of the 2019 season, besides the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals in September.
Traditionally, if there is Pro Mods at an event, there would not be Top Alcohol Dragster or Top Alcohol Funny Car. If there was Pro Stock Motorcycle, there would not be Top Fuel Harley.
However, at this event, they have everyone. In addition, there will be a grudge race with eight legends in an “Unfinished Business” segment.
There are 23 Pro Stock Motorcycle riders listed on the entry list. Only 16 bikes will make the show on Sunday for eliminations.
This is the first PSM event of the season. It also marks the debut of several off-season moves.
Angelle Sampey will be making her awkward appearance with Harley-Davidson racing, who added her this off-season. Karen Stoffer will also be making her debut appearance for White Alligator Racing on Jerry Savoie’s team.
She replaced L.E. Tonglet, who will be competing in about four races on his family bike. Tonglet is not listed on the entry list.
Screaming’ Eagle Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson will have three bikes on the property. Besides Sampey, Krawiec and Hines will be competing on their bikes.
Reigning Pro Stock Motorcycle Matt Smith will be competing, along with his wife Angie. Father and son — Hector Arana and Hector Arana Jr. — will be competing.
Reed Motorsports’ Cory Reed and Joey Gladstone will be racing. Former PSM Champion Jerry Savoie will be competing with his teammate Stoffer.
Women racers Andi Rawlings, Melissa Surber, Katie Sullivan, and Kelly Clontz will be racing. Jianna Salinas, the daughter of Top Fuel Dragster pilot Mike Salinas, will be making her career debut on the bike.
Jimmy Underdahl will be racing, while long-time veteran Steve Johnson will also be there. Scotty Pollacheck, Marc Ingwersen, John Hall, Ryan Oehler, and Lance Bonham will be there.
Krawiec has the most Pro Stock Motorcycle wins at this track with six. Besides winning three straight from 2016-18, he also won three straight from 2010-12.
