The Los Angeles Rams have matched the contract offer for running back Malcolm Brown. He will receive a two-year, $3.25 million deal by the Rams.
The Detroit Lions signed Brown to an offer sheet earlier in the week. The Rams then chose to match it to keep him with the team.
Despite the new deal, Brown is going to see limited snaps behind Todd Gurley II. The last two seasons, he received 120 snaps.
The 25-year-old Biloxi, Mississippi native spent his entire career with the Rams. He was an undrafted free agent out of the University of Texas.
This past season, he appeared in 12 games. He had 43 carries for 212 yards. He also had five receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown.
He has made 40 appearances in his career, including one start. His one start in his career came during the 2017 season.
Brown has 128 carries for 514 yards and a touchdown. His lone rushing touchdown came against the Indianapolis Colts in a 46-9 win on Sept. 10, 2017.
He also has 18 receptions for 149 yards and a touchdown. His lone touchdown reception came against the New Orleans Saints in a 45-35 loss on Nov. 4, 2018.
