The CCNY Beavers has made a change with its women’s basketball coaching job. Jamie Angell will no longer serve as the program’s head coach.

He had been the team’s head coach since August 2014. Instead of being fired, he will continue in his role as Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing, which he has been in the role since 2011-12.

“We look forward to Jamie’s transition as we expand our community partnerships, in-game promotional and marketing efforts and campus and community visibility. We also wish Coach Dail the best of luck in his future professional endeavors,” said Director of Athletics Lydia V Travis said.

A national search has begun to find his replacement. He was 66-68 during his tenure.

Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Jeremy Thompson will serve as interim head coach and help with recruiting until a new head coach is named.

This past season, the team had a 16-11 record. In addition, they had a 10-6 conference mark.

They were 8-4 at home. However, they were 8-7 on the road.

Their season came to an end on Feb. 19 when they lost in the CUNY Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Champions against Hunter College Hawks. The Beavers lost 92-61 in New York.

The Beavers will have two new basketball coaches during the 2019-20 season. Their men’s basketball coach Paul Dail also stepped down on Monday.
