Jaguars back Fournette arrested for speeding and suspended license

Leonard Fournette arrested on Thursday, according to CBS47. The Jacksonville Jaguars running back was charged with “knowingly drive while license suspended, cancelled or revoked” and “violation municipal speed – posted.”

He was speeding and driving with a suspended license when he was arrested. Fournette has a $1,500 bond on the “knowingly drive while license suspended, cancelled, or revoked.”

There was no bond on the speeding charge.

This could be the final straw for Fournette in Jacksonville. He had his guaranteed voided his guarantees in his deal following a team violation. He presently has $8.9 million in dead cap space from his signing bonus, according to Spotrac. 

The 24-year-old New Orleans, Louisiana native was the fourth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. He spent the last two seasons with the team. 

Fournette made eight appearances, including eight starts in 2018. He had 133 carries for 439 yards and five touchdowns. 

He also had 22 receptions for 185 yards and a touchdown. 

In his NFL career, he has made 21 appearances, including 21 starts. He had 401 carries for 1,479 yards and 14 touchdowns. 

He also had 58 receptions for 487 yards and two touchdowns.

The Jaguars voided his guarantees after he and former Jaguars back T.J. Yeldon appeared to be disinterested in the team’s season-finale against the Houston Texans. 

“I am disappointed in the behavior today from T.J. Yeldon and Leonard Fournette,” Jaguars Executive Vice President Tom Coughlin said after the game. “They were disrespectful, selfish and their behavior was unbecoming that of a professional football player.”
