The Minnesota Vikings have re-signed wide receiver Adam Thielen to a four-year deal. It is a $64 million extension.
However, if he reaches all incentives, he could receive $73 million. He will receive $35 million guaranteed in this deal.
Thielen’s deal will not start until the 2021 season. He is slated to make $5.85 million in 2019, before making $5.35 million in 2020.
The Vikings have both of their wide receivers locked up to extensions. Last August, the team signed Stefon Diggs to a five-year, $72 million deal.
Diggs received $40 million guaranteed.
The 28-year-old Detroit Lakes, Minnesota native was undrafted before signing with the Vikings. He has developed into a star for the team.
He had a career-best 113 receptions for 1,373 yards and nine touchdowns. Thielen has had back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons.
In the past two seasons, he has had 204 receptions for 2,649 yards and 13 touchdowns in 32 games.
He was named to the Pro Bowl both seasons.
During last season, he became the first player ever in NFL history, who had eight straight games with 100-plus receiving yards. The 113 receptions were the third-most in team history.
The 1,373 yards were the fourth-most in team history.
In five seasons, he has made 80 appearances, including 46 starts. He has 293 receptions for 3,897 yards and 19 touchdowns.
He also has 12 carries for 145 yards.
