Rossi will attempt to win two straight Long Beach events in 2019

The NTT IndyCar Series returns to the Long Beach Street Circuit in Long Beach, California. The Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach will start at 4:42 pm EST on Sunday.

Alexander Rossi will attempt to repeat as the event winner. He won last year’s event from the pole.

In the history of the event, Rossi is the first driver to win the event from the pole.

Rossi will attempt to become the second driver to win this event twice. Previously, Will Power won it twice in 2008 and 2012.

In the three IndyCar races to date, there has been three different winners. Josef Newgarden won the season-opener, while rookie Colton Herta won the first-ever event in Austin, Texas.

Takuma Sato won last weekend in Birmingham, Alabama.

There are 23 cars entered for this event. Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports drivers James Hinchcliffe and Marcus Ericsson will be competing. In addition, so will ABC Supply AJ Foyt Racing drivers Matheus Leist and Tony Kanaan.

Newgarden, a Team Penske driver, will be joined on the grid by his teammates Power and Spencer Pigot. Chip Ganassi Racing teammates Scott Dixon and rookie Felix Rosenqvist will be competing, as well.

Ed Carpenter Racing teammates Ed Jones and Spencer Pigot will be competing. Dale Coyne Racing teammates Sebastian Bourdais and rookie Santino Ferrucci will be there, as well.

Andretti Autosport drivers Zach Veach, Rossi, and Ryan Hunter-Reay will be there. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing teammates Graham Rahal and Sato will be competing.

Carlin teammates rookie Patricio O’Ward and Max Chilton will be competing. In addition, Meyer Shank Racing with Arrow SPM driver Jack Harvey will be there. Harding Steinbrenner Racing driver rookie Herta will be there.

Andretti Herta with Marco & Curb-Agajanian driver Marco Andretti also will be competing.
