Brittany Force is starting to like Baytown, Texas. For the second straight year, she is the Top Fuel winner at the NHRA national event there.
She won the 32nd annual Mopar Express Lane NHRA SpringNationals on Sunday. The No. 1 qualifier defeated three-time world champion Antron Brown in the final round.
The Yorba Linda, California native went 3.749 at 302.14 mph for the win. The Pittsboro, Indiana native went 3.995 at 233.48 mph in the losing effort.
“All of John Force Racing was on a mission this morning,” B. Force said. “My dad and I were No. 1, the first time father and daughter have ever qualified No. 1 at an event. That’s something very special my dad and I will share. We were looking for a win but to be able to do it with Robert Hight by my side in that Auto Club car, that’s pretty awesome.”
Prior to this final round meeting, Brown held a 15-7 advantage over Force. In addition, he also held a 4-2 advantage over Force in final rounds.
Force had the advantage over Brown on the treet. She then never trailed as she flew down the groove for the win.
Brown had problems as he hazed the tires at approx. half track.
The Advance Auto Parts sponsored driver won her ninth career National event with this win. In addition, it is her first win of the 2019 season.
