Top Fuel Dragsters return to Charlotte, North Carolina this weekend when the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series competes at zMAX Dragway in Concord, North Carolina. This is race No. 6 on the season, as the NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals takes place April 26-28, 2019.

Steve Torrence won last year’s NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals. In fact, he won both Charlotte races.

Torrence defeated Doug Kalitta in the Four-Wide version last April. The Kilgore, Texas pilot went 3.813 at 326.56 mph.

The Ann Arbor, Michigan native went 4.010 at 278.12 mph.

Torrence will be competing this weekend, as will Kalitta. In fact, both of the Kalitta Motorsports drivers will be there, including Richie Crampton.

John Force Racing’s two Top Fuel pilots will be in action, as Brittany Force and Austin Prock will hit the track. Don Schumacher Racing will have two of their three Top Fuel drivers on the property in Antron Brown and Leah Pritchett.

Full-time pilot Terry McMillen will be competing in his Amalie Motor Oil dragster. Fellow full-time pilot Scott Palmer will be there in his Magic Dry dragster.

Fellow full-time pilot Clay Millican will be competing in his Strutmasters.com/Parts Plus dragster. Mike Salinas, who won his first career win at the Las Vegas Four-Wide Nationals, will be there, as well.

There will be 16 Top Fuel Dragsters on the property. Each of them will make the show on Sunday.

Part-timers Dominick Lagana — who is a Capco Contractors crew member when he’s not racing, Pat Dakin, Cameron Ferré, Lex Joon, and Audrey Worm will be competing.

This will be Worm’s first appearance of the season.

Brown is the all-time winner at this facility. He has five career wins, including 2016, 2015 (twice), 2014, and 2011.
