The NFL Draft is in Nashville, Tennessee. While so many players are learning where they’ll play during their NFL careers, an NFL player was arrested in Nashville.
Houston Texans right end Ryan Griffin was arrested on Friday night, according to reports. He has been charged with public intoxication and vandalism.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he punched out a hotel window. The damage was reportedly over $1,000.
Before midnight, according to the authorities, they were called to the corner between Union Street and Second Ave. North. Hotel Indigo security caught Griffin punching out a hotel window.
After arriving on the scene, the police found that Griffin was bleeding from his left hand and fingers. He also was allegedly stumbling and nearly walked into traffic.
Griffin allegedly also smelled of alcohol, according to the affidavit. In addition, he also allegedly had watery eyes.
“We are aware of the incident regarding Ryan Griffin,” Texans Vice President of Communications Amy Palcic said. “We are gathering information and will have no further comment at this time.”
The 29-year-old Londonderry, New Hampshire native has spent the last six seasons with the Texans. He has had 136 receptions for 1,491 yards and seven touchdowns.
This past season, he made 14 appearances, including 11 starts. He had 24 receptions for 305 yards.
His best career season was in 2016 when he had 50 receptions for 442 yards and two touchdowns.
