Bowl game added in 2020 to Fenway Park

Fenway Park is an historic baseball stadium. In 2020, it’ll be the home of a new college football bowl game, according to the Stadium.

It’ll be one of three new Bowl games for the 2020 season. Besides Fenway Park, there will be new bowls in Los Angeles and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.


With these three Bowl games, there will now be 43 bowl games overall. Including the College Football Playoff, there will be 65% of the 130 FBS teams will be go bowling.

The Atlantic Coast Conference and American Athletic Conference will have teams play in the Bowl game at Fenway Park. In addition, the ACC also plays in the Pinstripe Bowl, which is played at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York.

It’ll also be the third MLB facility to host a Bowl game. Besides Fenway Park and Yankee Stadium, Chase Field, the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, also hosts the Cheez-It Bowl.

TCU Horned Frogs defeated the California Golden Bears, 10-7, in overtime on Dec. 26, 2018 in the Cheez-It Bowl. In addition, the Wisconsin Badgers defeated the Miami (Florida) Hurricanes, 35-3, on Dec. 27, 2018 in the Pinstripe Bowl.

Fenway Park began hosting football games in 1912. The Fenway Gridiron Series took place from 1912-2015, 2017. The Boston College Eagles and the Connecticut Huskies were the last two football teams to play at the facility.

The Eagles won 39-16 on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017.
