According to TMZ, former WWE competitor Ashley Massaro committed suicide when she died last Thursday. The story says she died by hanging.
She had been found unconscious last Thursday in her Suffolk County, New York home. The 39-year-old was then transported to a local hospital, where she died.
Her death shock the wrestling community. The authorities at the time considered her death “non-criminal.”
She is survived by her daughter, who now has to go on in life without her mother. She will be laid to rest in Suffolk County, New York.
During the WWE’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view on Sunday, the company aid tribute to Massaro.
Former WWE champion CM Punk called into WMGM on Friday and talked about Massaro’s death.
“Tremendously sad way to go,” Punk said. “Thoughts obviously go out to her family, especially her daughter.
“It’s May. It’s Mental Health Month … if you’re depressed and things aren’t going your way, there’s no reason to feel alone.”
“Just reach out to somebody. Text a friend. Call somebody. There’s hotlines. There’s ways you can get help.”
