Stewart-Haas Racing crew member Soules dies

Stewart-Haas Racing will be competing this weekend in Michigan with heavy hearts following the death of one of their crew members. Shawn Soules was killed in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday night.

According to motorcyclelawyernorthcarolina.com, Soules was killed near Statesville, North Carolina. He was involved in an accident that happened near the intersection of North Carolina Highway 3 and Johnson Dairy Road.

A BMW, driven by an unnamed driver, attempted to turn left onto Johnson Dairy Road. The driver failed to give the right of way to Soules.

The NASCAR crew member died at the scene.

The authorities are investigating the wreck. Charges may be filed in this case.

According to the post, the driver of the BMW could potentially face a misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and a failure to yield charge if convicted. The driver is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
