Pro Stock cars return to Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio this weekend for the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals. This is race No. 12 in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.
This event will take place from Friday, June 21 through Sunday, June 23. This also concludes a four races in a row — their longest stretch of the season.
Tanner Gray won last year’s Pro Stock final at the Ohio facility. He defeated rival Erica Enders-Stevens to win the Wally.
Gray went 6.615 at 209.62 mph to win the Wally. Enders-Stevens went 6.608 at 208.30 mph in the losing effort.
Enders-Stevens will be competing this weekend in Pro Stock. She will be pulling double-duty this weekend, as she will also be competing in Pro Mod.
Her Elite Performance teammates Jeg Coughlin Jr., Alex Laughlin, and Rodger Brogdon will also be competing. Team Summit will be there with their drivers and cars in Jason Line, Greg Anderson, Bo Butner III, Deric Kramer, Fernando Cuadra, and Fernando Cuadra Jr.
Full-time competitor Chris McGaha will be in Ohio in his Harlow Sammons ride. Teammates Kenny Delco and Val Smeland will be competing.
Cold Fire sponsored Alan Prusiensky will be competing following the short hiatus for the category. Matthew Hartford — who really bought ownership with his co-owners of Total Seal — will be there in his first race as a co-owner of the company that sponsors him.
There are 18 Pro Stock cars on the property. Only 16 cars will make the show on Sunday, as two will go home following Saturday’s qualifying.
Other drivers on the property include Shane Tucker, David Miller, and Baron “Wally” Stroupe.
Anderson is the all-time winner at the Summit-sponsored facility. He has three wins in 2015, 2010, and 2008.
