The authorities said Simmons called 911 to report that he shot his sister’s boyfriend.

“The victim was in a relationship with the suspect’s sister,” TPD Lt. Kevan Toney said. “There are domestic violence charges that were filed recently, so the brother went to address those concerns with the victim and it ultimately resulted in the suspect shooting the victim.”

Simmons was later found at his residence. The authorities took him into custody there.

Murder charges will be filed against Summons in Elston-Gambrell’s death. He is being held on a $1 million bond.

Simmons will have a court date on July 12th. Elston-Gambrell was part of the Class of 2011.

However, during his only season with the team, he redshirted the season, before being dismissed from the program. He was dismissed from the program after Urban Meyer became head coach.
