Parts Plus/Laris Motorsports Insurance Top Fuel Dragster pilot Clay Millican is the No. 1 qualifier on Saturday at the NHRA New England Nationals. His time from Friday was able to hold up for the No. 1 qualifier spot at New England Dragway and Motorsports Park in Epping, New Hampshire.
Millican went 3.795 at 326.71 mph to claim the top spot in eliminations on Sunday. This is Millican’s 22nd No. 1 qualifier of his career, including first in New Hampshire.
“Obviously we had a big change in the off-season, and Mike and I have been friends for a long time,” Millican said. “Pretty much everything about what I do in the race car I learned from him. He’s taught me so much. It’s just really, really fun and it’s great working with him again. The guys working on the car have just been unbelievable. I think we’re further ahead than I thought we would be.”
Millican will receive a bye in the first-round of eliminations.
DHL/Kalitta Air Top Fuel Dragster pilot Richie Crampton is the No. 2 qualifier. The Indianapolis, Indiana native went 3.825 at 319.07 mph.
Crampton will face Audrey Worm in the first-round of eliminations. The Grantville, Pennsylvania native went 9.234 at 89.65 mph.
Mac Tools Top Fuel Dragster pilot Doug Kalitta is the No. 3 qualifier. The Ann Arbor, Michigan native went 3.844 at 321.73 mph.
Kalitta will face Terry McMillen in the first-round of eliminations. The Elkhart, Indiana native went 6.318 at 103.24 mph.
Matco Tools Top Fuel Dragster pilot Antron Brown is the No. 4 qualifier. The Pittsboro, Indiana native went 3.848 at 321.73 mph.
Brown will face Cameron Ferré in the first-round of eliminations. The Huntington Beach, California native went 5.886 at 117.18 mph.
Magic Dry/Tommy Thompson Motorsports sponsored Top Fuel Dragster pilot Scott Palmer is the No. 5 qualifier. The Cassville, Missouri native went 3.877 at 315.34 mph.
Palmer will face Dan Mercier in the first-round of eliminations. The St-Michel, Quebec, Canada native went 4.279 at 219.72 mph.
