Legendary NFL quarterback Joe Montana has put his Napa Valley mansion up for sale. If you had a cool $29 million, this large residence can be yours.

The 500 acre house located on the rolling hills of Napa Valley went up on the market on Wednesday, according to SF Gate. The residence borders both Sonoma and Napa counties.

This is the second time that the residence has been put up for sale. In 2009, it went up for sale for $49 million.

The house, which is also called “Villa Montana” is 20 miles outside of Calistoga. According to the story, it was custom built for the Montana’s after they became enamored with European architecture from their trips to Italy and France.

Besides the European architecture, they also had furniture, among other items imported, the report says. It also has a lot of antiques including their marble floors, sinks, windows, door surrounds, and fireplaces.

“When you’re at the top of the property, you’re looking dead straight on at Mount St. Helena and Knights Valley,” says Compass agent Avram Goldman who is co-listing the home with Tim Hayden. “It’s one of the most spectacular views in wine country. In the winter, when it does snow, it’s incredibly picturesque. It’s like a fantasy world.

“I compare their property to a spectacular painting whether it be a Picasso or a Monet. They wanted it to have an authentic feel of an Italian villa. They really created that. It looks like they took a home from Italy, picked it up with a big helicopter and set it down here. You have the feeling it has been there for a long time but it has all the modern conveniences.”

Montana is also selling a separate residence in Calistoga, according to the LA Times. This Wine Country residence is up for sale for $3.1 million.
