The Boston Red Sox acquired pitcher Andrew Cashner on Saturday afternoon. In exchange, the Baltimore Orioles received two prospects.
Infielder Noelberth Romero and outfielder Elio Prado are going to the Orioles. Both players are just 17 years old.
They will play for Baltimore in the Dominican Summer League.

Cashner will become the Red Sox’s fifth starter. He was supposed to start for the Orioles on Sunday, but Boston has not announced when he’ll make his pitching debut.
He is expected to replace former starter Nathan Eovaldi, who is expected to be moved to the bullpen after his return from an injury. Eovaldi last pitched for the team in the World Series from the bullpen against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
This season, though, Eovaldi made just four starts for the team before last pitching for the team on April 17th against the New York Yankees.
This season, he had a 9-3 record in 17 appearances, including 17 starts. He also had a 3.83 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP.
He has allowed 45 runs (41 earned runs), including 11 home runs, on 86 hits in 96 1/3 innings. Cashner also has 66 strikeouts and 29 walks.
In eight of his last 10 starts, he has gone at least six innings. He also allowed fewer than two runs or less in the past five starts.

The 32-year-old Conroe, Texas native joins his sixth MLB team with this move. Before joining the Orioles, he also played for the San Diego Padres, Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers, and Miami Marlins.
