The Atlanta Falcons are in a spending spree this week. First, the team signed defensive lineman Grady Jarrett to a four-year, $68 million deal on Monday.

Jarrett received $42.5 million in guaranteed money.

Two days later, the team signed linebacker Deion Jones to a new extension. He received a four-year deal worth up to $57 million.

Jones will receive $34 million in guaranteed money.

The 24-year-old is expected to make $10.6 million this upcoming season in the final year of his contract. The new extension that he signed on Wednesday will start with the 2020 season.

He is slated to be a free agent once again following the 2024 season.

The New Orleans, Louisiana native was a second round pick by the Falcons in the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent the last three seasons in Atlanta.

Jones received his first Pro Bowl nod in 2017.

This past season, he appeared in six games, including six starts. He had 53 tackles, including one tackle for a loss.

He also had 1.0 sacks, two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown; one forced fumble, and six pass deflections.
