Sergei Bobrovsky signed a contract with the Florida Panthers in the off-season. One place he was not signing was re-signing with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The 30-year-old signed a seven-year, $70 million deal with the Panthers. He will make $11.5 million this upcoming season, then $12 million over the next three seasons.

Bobrovsky will also make $10 million during the 2023-24 season. He’ll get $6.5 million during the 2024-25 season and $6 million in 2025-26.

“There was no chance I’d sign an extension with [them],” he said to Russian outlet Sport24’s Daria Tuboltseva, which was transcribed by Sport-Express’ Igor Eronko. “I felt I needed [a change of] scenery. And it’s not just because of tensions with the Jackets.”
Bobrovsky — who turned into one of the best goalies in the league with the Blue Jackets — said he was offered a psychologist, which he said made him weird. He added he had been going to one since he was 21.
He spent the last seven seasons with the Blue Jackets. He was traded to Columbus from the Philadelphia Flyers, where he played his first two seasons.
This past season, he appeared in 62 games, including 61 starts. He went 37-24-1 with a .913 save percentage and a 2.58 goals-against average.

The 2.58 goals-against average was his highest since the 2015-16 season when he had a 2.75 goals-against average.
In his career, he has appeared in 457 games, including 446 starts. He has gone 255-153-37 in his career with a .919 save percentage and a 2.46 goals-against average.
