D.C. United has parted ways with midfielder Zoltán Stieber. The team said it was a mutual agreement.
He had been with the team since Aug. 9, 2017.

“We want to thank Zoltán for his service and commitment to the club over the last three seasons,” United GM and VP of Soccer Operations Dave Kasper said. “We wish him the best of luck in his next endeavor.”
During his tenure with D.C. United, he scored six goals and added eight assists in 44 appearances.
He leaves the organization as Wayne Rooney returns from a trip overseas, according to the Washington Post. Rooney will be back in action for the team on Saturday.
Stieber only played one for the team in their last seven games. He has been battling an illness, according to the WP story.
The Sárvár, Hungary native has made nine appearances this season with the team. He made three starts, but did not register an assist or a goal.
