Seahawks make Wagner highest paid inside linebacker

The Seattle Seahawks have re-signed linebacker Bobby Wagner on Friday evening. He received a three-year, $54 million deal.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, he will receive $40.2 million. He will receive an average of $18 million per season.
With this new deal, he will be the highest-paid inside linebacker in the league.
The 29-year-old Los Angeles, California native was a second-round pick by the Seahawks in the 2012 NFL Draft. He is a five-time Pro Bowler and helped Seattle to a Super Bowl win.
He spent the last seven seasons with the team. This past season, he appeared in 15 games, including 15 starts.
Wagner had 138 tackles, including six tackles for a loss and eight quarterback hits. He also had 1.0 sacks, one interception, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and 11 pass deflections.
He had a season-high 13 tackles three times. His lone sack was against the San Francisco 49ers on December 2nd.
He also had his lone interception against the 49ers in that December 2nd game, as well.
In his career, he has made 103 appearances, including 102 starts. He had 981 tackles, including 51 tackles for a loss and 60 quarterback hits.
He also has 16.5 sacks, nine interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown; four forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries, and 41 pass deflections.
