Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is holding out for a new contract. According to Spotrac, he has two years left on his deal worth $12.8 million.
He is slated to make $3.8 million this season. Elliott would then receive a hike in 2020 when it increases to $9.09 million in the fifth year of his rookie deal.

According to 105.3 The Fan’s Kevin Turner, Elliott will be holding out in Cabo San Lucas, México. While Elliott should be in México by now, his teammates are in Oxnard, California, as they prepare for the new season.

Elliott was not on the team’s plane when the players left together. He could have taken another plane to Oxnard, but when he did not show up by the time he was required to be there, a holdout was reported.
105.3 The Fan says in their story that Elliott would like to receive $10 million per season. Elliott is one of three players the team will have to decide on a contract extension around the same time.
Besides Elliott, quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver Amari Cooper are the other two. Cooper was acquired by the Cowboys in a trade with the Oakland Raiders last season.
The 24-year-old St. Louis, Missouri native was the Cowboys fourth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent the last three seasons with the team.
During the 2018 season, he appeared in 15 games, including 15 starts. He had 304 carries for 1,434 yards and six touchdowns.
Elliott also had 77 receptions for 567 yards and three additional touchdowns.

The former Ohio State back has had 1,000 or more yards in two of his three seasons. As a rookie, he had a career-best season so far with 322 carries for 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns.
In his career, he has made 40 appearances, including 40 starts. He has had 868 carries for 4,048 yards and 28 touchdowns.
He also has 135 receptions for 1,199 yards and six touchdowns.
