The historic Western Swing will conclude this weekend. The third event, the CatSpot NHRA Northwest Nationals, at Pacific Raceways will take place from Friday, August 2nd through Sunday, August 4th.

This is event No. 16 of the 24-event NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing schedule.

Top Fuel Dragsters will compete at their lone Northwest event of the 2019 schedule. This event is 280 feet above sea level.

Antron Brown won last year’s event. He defeated his Don Schumacher Racing teammate Leah Pritchett in the final round.

The Pittsboro, Indiana native went 3.835 at 322.88 mph to win the Wally. The Avon, Indiana native went 3.849 at 320.13 mph in the losing effort.

Both DSR pilots will be competing this weekend. Capco Contractors pilot Steve Torrence will attempt to get back to his winning ways after a semifinal loss to his father Billy last weekend in Sonoma, California.

John Force Racing pilots Brittany Force and Austin Prock will be on the property. In addition, Kalitta Motorsports pilots Doug Kalitta and Richie Crampton will also be at this event.

Full-time competitor Mike Salinas will have his Scrappers Racing team at Pacific Raceways. Fellow full-time competitor Scott Palmer will be there with his Magic Dry/Marck Recycling Dragster.

Amalie Motor Oil Xtermigator pilot Terry McMillen will be competing, as well. Parts Plus/Laris Motorsports Insurance pilot Clay Millican will also be there.

There will be 15 Top Fuel Dragsters on the property. That means the No. 1 qualifier will receive a bye in the first-round of eliminations on Sunday.

Other Top Fuel Dragsters on the property include Shawn Reed, Ron Smith, Steven Chrisman, and Cameron Ferré.

Brown is the active driver with the most wins at this track. In fact, he is on a three race win streak near Seattle, Washington.

He has four wins at Pacific Raceways with wins in 2018, 2017, 2016, and 2009.

Joe Amato is the all-time leader with five wins. He won in 1999, 1998, 1994, 1991, and 1989.
