The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox were a part of the first London Series this past June. Now, the Yankees will be part of a new game.

MLB announced on Thursday morning that the Yankees will face the Chicago White Sox in the “MLB at Field of Dreams” in August 2020. This will be the first MLB game at the location of the 1989 Field of Dreams movie.

The game is scheduled to take place on Thursday, August 13, 2020. Besides being on the site of the move in Dyersville, Iowa, it will also be the first MLB game in Iowa.

“As a sport that is proud of its history linking generations, Major League Baseball is excited to bring a regular season game to the site of Field of Dreams,” Commissioner Robert Manfred Jr. said. “We look forward to celebrating the movie’s enduring message of how baseball brings people together at this special cornfield in Iowa.”

FOX will air the game at 7 pm EST. The game will be considered a White Sox home contest, then the teams will travel back to Guaranteed Rate Field to resume the three-game series on Saturday. The teams will be off on Friday and play Saturday and Sunday in Chicago, Illinois.

“Field of Dreams is an iconic, generational baseball story built upon a deep love of the game that transcends even the most impossible of circumstances,” White Sox Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf. “The filmmakers tell a beautiful story that resonates to this day. It is an incredible honor for the White Sox franchise to be the home team against the Yankees in a special setting that will capture everyone’s imagination just like the movie does. It seems very fitting that 30 years after the film’s debut, MLB will build a ball field in an Iowa cornfield where we will come to play a game so that baseball fans can create their own memories to be cherished for decades.”

In recent years, MLB has held games outside of their traditional locations. In 2016, there was a game at Fort Bragg, North Carolina between the Atlanta Braves and the Miami Marlins.

This year, there was an MLB game at the Men’s College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska featuring the Kansas City Royals and the Detroit Tigers. MLB teams have been competing in the Little League Classic in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania since 2017.

When the games were held in Fort Bragg and Omaha, it was the first MLB games ever held there.

“Field of Dreams captures the uniqueness of Iowans’ can-do attitude, and there’s no better place to host our state’s very first Major League game than this legendary baseball field in Dyersville. As the famous movie quote goes, ‘Is this heaven?’ ‘No it’s Iowa,’” said Governor Kim Reynolds. “Iowa’s truly a land of opportunity, where you can work hard, dream big and anything can happen. I look forward to this historic event in 2020.”
