Empire defeat Soul to win ArenaBowl 32

The Albany Empire won their first ArenaBowl Championship on Sunday night. They defeated the Philadelphia Soul, 45-27, at Times Union Center in Albany, New York.

There were 12,042 fans in attendance to take in ArenaBowl 32. This was the first ArenaBowl to ever be played in New York.

Empire quarterback Tommy Grady went 16 of 25 for 200 yards. He also had five touchdowns. 

Mykel Benson had three carries for 14 yards. 

Quentin Sims led the team with nine receptions for 93 yards and four touchdowns. Malachi Jones had five receptions for 84 yards. Demetres Stephens also had a 15-yard reception. 

Benson also had an eight-yard touchdown reception. 

Soul quarterback Dan Raudabaugh went 26 of 39 for 300 yards. He also threw four touchdown passes and one interception. 

BJ Bunn had one carry for one yard. Adrian Ferns also had five carries for one yard. 

Bunn also had 10 receptions for 129 yards and a touchdown. Darius Prince had nine receptions for 99 yards and two touchdowns. Darius Reynolds had five receptions for 65 yards. 

Lonnie Outlaw also had two receptions for seven yards and a touchdown. 

The Empire had 10 second half points. Grady hit Benson for an eight-yard touchdown.

Adrian Trevino also made a 31-yard field goal.

The Soul had six points in the second half. Raudabaugh hit Outlaw for a three yard touchdown before Kenny Spencer’s extra point was blocked.

Albany scored 35 points in the first two quarters. Maurice Leggett scored on a 54-yard interception returned for a touchdown. 

Grady then hit Sims for an 11-yard touchdown reception. The duo also connected on a six-yard touchdown reception. 

The Empire quarterback connected with Sims two more times before the end of the second quarter. Grady hit Sims for a 25-yard touchdown. 

He also hit Sims for an 11-yard touchdown.

Philadelphia had 21 points in the first half. Raudabaugh hit Prince for a four-yard touchdown. 

He also hit Bunn for a 38-yard touchdown. Raudabaugh opened the scoring with a 34-yard touchdown pass to Prince.
