Lindsey Vonn and New Jersey Devils defenseman P.K. Subban are engaged to be married. U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team announced their engagement on Friday.

The two went public with their relationship in June 2018. The two first met each other in 2017 at the Nickelodeon show following the ESPY’s.

“Right off the bat, I knew he was different,” Vonn said in a Vogue article that coincided with the engagement announcement. “But I’d been married before, so I was pretty hesitant to let myself think that I could find someone that I would want to be married to again. After a few months of dating, I knew he was the one I wanted to be with, though. He makes me happy, and he’s so positive and energetic.”

The 34-year-old Vonn, who retired earlier this year from skiing, was previously married. She was married to Thomas Vonn from 2007 through 2013.

She previously dated Tiger Woods from March 2013 through May 2015. She also previously dated NFL assistant coach Kenan Smith.

The 30-year-old Subban has not been previously married.

“We spoke on the phone every day,” Subban said “Then, on Christmas Day, I went home to see my family, and after brunch, I hopped on a plane to Denver, and then drove three hours to get to Vail in a snowstorm to see her.

“Going there on Christmas Day, and leaving my family to do that, really proved to myself that I really liked her. I knew that I was all in. I didn’t know I would get married or engaged, but I knew that she had the potential to be the person whom I could spend the rest of my life with.”
