Cowboys re-sign Ezekiel Elliott through 2026

The Dallas Cowboys have re-signed running back Ezekiel Elliott. He has agreed to a six-year, $90 million deal.

He receives $50 million in guaranteed money. In addition, he is the highest-paid running back in the league, with an average of $15 million per season.

Elliott is now signed through the 2026 season. With this extension, he will practice with his teammates on Wednesday.

Before this deal, Elliott was holding out in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for 40 days. He came back to the Dallas, Texas area recently.

Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley II had the highest average before Elliott’s new deal. Gurley II has an average of $14.375 million.

Elliott is expected to be a full go on Sunday, as the NFL season starts.

The New York Giants visit the Cowboys in their home opener with a 4:25 pm EST start.

Elliott — who was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft — has spent the last three seasons with the Cowboys franchise. He has had nearly 1,500 rushing yards in two of his three seasons.

In 2018, he had 15 appearances, including 15 starts. He had 304 carries for 1,434 yards and six touchdowns.

In his career, he has 40 appearances, including 40 starts. He has had 868 carries for 4,048 yards and 28 touchdowns.
