Green Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams has been transported to a local medical facility. He left Thursday Night Football’s contest against the Philadelphia Eagles with a head injury.
Williams will not return to the game. The team is concerned about head and neck injuries.
He was injured on the first play from scrimmage. When his forward progress was stopped, Eagles defensive end Derek Barnett hit him with a helmet-to-helmet hit.
Following the hit, Williams attempted to get up. However, he was not able to do that.
He was eventually put on a stretcher and taken off the field. While he was being stretchered off the field, Williams did give the fans a thumbs up.
Aaron Jones is expected to get the majority of the carries for the rest of the night.
The 24-year-old Rialto, California was a fourth-round draft pick by the Packers in the 2017 NFL Draft. This is his third season with the team.
Through three games, he has had 26 carries for 87 yards on the season. He also has had seven receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown.
