For the second time this week, the brother of an NFL player has left their respective college teams. First, the brother of Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton left his program at Howard University.
Caylin Newton said despite announcing his transfer, he will finish his degree at the school in May, then transfer to a new school. This time, around, it is the brother of Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette.
Lanard Fournette, who was a running back with the LSU Tigers, has left the team. According to ESPN, he graduated in May and withdrew from the school on Wednesday.
The younger Fournette reportedly ‘just wants to move on with his life.’
In four games this season, he had 13 carries for 36 yards and a touchdown. He was listed as a senior on the football team.
Without Fournette, the Tigers now have Clyde Edwards-Helaire as the starter with John Emery Jr. and Tyrion Davis-Price as the backups.
He had just 162 yards in his collegiate career with the Tigers. He also scored two touchdowns.
