According to ESPN, Florida Gators quarterback Kyle Trask played through Saturday’s game with a ‘light’ MCL sprain. He left before returning to the contest with the injury.

Following the hit, Trask stayed down for some time. He was eventually able to walk to the locker room despite being in pain.

When Trask exited the game, Emory Jones did come in and play for him. However, Trask returned at the end of the second quarter.

Trask was making his third career start following the season-ending injury to Feleipe Franks. He suffered an ankle injury against the Kentucky Wildcats.

The junior quarterback went 19 of 31 for 234 yards. He also threw two touchdowns in the Gators win.

At press time, it is not known how long he’ll be sidelined. Or if he’ll be able to play through the pain like some athletes do in order to be out on the field with their teammates.

According to Mass General Brigham, the recovery time for a player, who has suffered a mild MCL sprain, is 3-4 weeks. However, the Gators said that it was a ‘light’ MCL sprain.

Since it is a ‘light’ MCL sprain, he may be sidelined for a week or two.
