James “Reaper” Goad has announced that he is stoppinf the Out of Time No Prep Series. Goad — who founded the series — made the announcement on Sunday morning.
The No Prep racer announced in his live stream that he refunded the recent Out of Time No Prep event. He said on Saturday he had an event that was rained out.
He said he even refunded the parking money for the fans. Yet, that caused Goad to think about the series.
Goad said the lack of cars has caused him to make the decision that he has made. He said that drivers do not want to come out on a no prep track instead, they want to compete on a prepped track.
Out of Time No Prep Series held its last scheduled event at Union County Dragway on Friday and Saturday. The event was held in Union, South Carolina.
“I’m done with the Out of Time No Prep Series,” Goad said in his Livestream. “I decided to kill the rest of the series. The cars aren’t showing up.”
It was one of eight events on the schedule. Much of the events were in the south in Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and South Carolina.
The other events were held at Cordova International Raceway on May 3-4 in Cordova, Illinois. In June, there was an event at Ozark Raceway Park in Rogersville, Missouri and an event in August that was held in Lapeer International Dragway in Lapeer, Michigan.
Goad said he is going to compete in the final Street Outlaws No Prep Kings event at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas. That is scheduled right before Halloween in Ennis, Texas.
