Warner’s senior Theodore Hammonds has died

A college Football player has died this week. Senior wide receiver Theodore “Boobie” Hammonds collapsed during the team’s non-contact drill.

Warner University said that the medical staff attended to Hammonds after he collapsed. He was eventually transported to Theo to the Lake Wales Medical Center Emergency Department.

He died on Tuesday night, October 8th. At the time of this post, the cause of death is not known.

“On behalf of Warner University and our faculty, staff, coaches and trainers, we offer our deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers to Theo’s family, friends and teammates in this difficult and uncertain time,” the school said in a statement. “We are devastated by his passing. We have made a Warner University Care Team available to provide compassion, support and counseling to members of our community. We know that our students, coaches and staff are in the hearts, prayers and minds of this community, and we thank you for your continued love and support.

The Lake Wales, Florida liberal arts college, which is affiliated with the Church of God. It plays in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) at the Division II level.

This season, he had 14 receptions for 193 yards and two touchdowns. He had a season-best 75 receiving yards in the team’s season-opener against Cincinnati Christian.
