Pro Stock returns to zMAX Dragway this weekend. The NTK NHRA Carolina Nationals will take place from Friday, Oct. 11 through Sunday, Oct. 13 in Concord, North Carolina.
This is event No. 21 on the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. In addition, it is event No. 3 of the Countdown to the Championship.
Summit Racing Equipment Pro Stock driver Jason Line will attempt to repeat as the winner. He defeated Gray Motorsports Pro Stock driver Tanner Gray in the final round last year.
The Troutman, North Carolina went 6.531 at 211.89 mph to win the Wally. The Denver, North Carolina native went 6.534 at 211.43 mph.
Line will be back for an attempt to win. Gray is off competing in NASCAR, because he felt that they marketed their stars better than the NHRA.
Team Summit will also have Greg Anderson, Deric Kramer, Bo Butner III, Cristian Cuadra, Fernando Cuadra Jr., and Fernando Cuadra Sr. Team Elite features Jeg Coughlin Jr., Erica Enders, Alex Laughlin, and Aaron Stanfield.
Kenny Delco Racing will feature Kenny Delco and Val Smeland. Other Pro Stock drivers include Jeremy Martorella, Shane Tucker, Alan Prusiensky, Matthew Hartford, Baron “Wally” Stroupe, and Chris McGaha.
There are 19 Pro Stock entries that will be on the property. Only 16 will make the show following Saturday’s two qualifying sessions.
That means three teams will go home following Saturday’s qualifying session.
Line has the most wins at this facility. He has won at the track four times, including 2012, 2016 (twice), and 2018.
