Joanna Jędrzejczyk defeated Michelle Waterson on Saturday night at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. This was the main event of the UFC Fight Night 161 fight card.
This was the third unanimous decision on the main card. In fact, both the main event and co-main event went the distance and was awarded unanimous decision wins.
All three judges gave Jędrzejczyk 50-45 wins. The fight went to the judges following the fifth round.
Jędrzejczyk — who was born in Olsztyn, Poland, who now resides in Florida — improved to 16-3 in her MMA career. This win snapped her one-fight losing streak following a loss to Valentina Shevchenko in December 2018 at UFC 231.
All three of her losses came in her last five bouts. Besides the loss to Shevchenko, she also lost back-to-back losses to Rose Namajunas.
The 33-year-old Strawweight fell to 17-7 in her career. This is her third loss by decision.
The Albuquerque, New Mexico native had her three fight win streak snapped with this loss. Before this loss, her last loss was to Tecia Torres on December 2nd, 2017, also by a unanimous decision.
During the three fight win streak, she defeated Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Felice Herrig, and Cortney Casey.
