White Alligator Racing has been dominate in the last five Pro Stock Motorcycle events. The team has won four of those events.Jerry Savoie – who owns the team – defeated Screamin’ Eagle Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Eddie Krawiec in the final round.
“It was a great day and we knew we had a good bike coming in,” Savoie said. “We said if we held our composure we could win this thing. For the most part, tracks favor certain riders and we’ve been blessed here. It’s a great place and today was great. Bottom line, I want a championship just as bad as anybody else, so whoever is in my way I’m going to do everything I can to try and beat them. I felt good and we’ve got a great team. To me, this win gives you more hope and means a lot. This gives you that window of opportunity where you could win a championship again.”
Before this final round meeting, Krawiec held a 24-9 advantage against Savoie. He also had a 7-1 advantage against Savoie in previous final rounds.
Savoie was nearly perfect with his 0.04 light to get the advantage early on. Krawiec was late with an 0.046 and saw the Alligator hunter in Louisiana pull away for the win.
The Cut Off, Louisiana native won by 0.0621 seconds, or approx. 18 feet. This is Savoie’s third win of the 2019 season.
Savoie also won the Mopar Express Lane NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil at Maple Grove Raceway on Sept. 15. He also won the prestigious Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis on Sept. 2.
This is Savoie’s 12th Pro Stock Motorcycle win. He has hinted that he will walk away after this season, while the team will field bikes in the category moving forward.
